Our story
Always looking for new challenges, the Chartres factory has a long history. Here are some key milestones.
Created More than 70 years ago, the company produced and developed electronic tubes under the “Radiotechnique” brand name.
In 1975, the production of electronic tubes stopped and focused on automotive light bulbs.
In 1985, the Chartres plant, was acquired by Philips Eclairage, and the site kept focusing on the design, development and manufacturing of automotive signaling lamps, interior lighting, dashboards, as well as their marketing.
In 2002, a new light bulb named "HiPerVision" was designed, developed and produced. HiPerVision is a miniature, precise and low-consumption light source, used for daytime running lights, fog lights and signaling lights applications. Since then, Chartres factory is still the sole global supplier of this unique bulb.
These specific design allowed us to elaborate and master a wide range of technologies and skills such as glass blowing, glass varnishing, pressing and sintering of glass powder and glass to metal sealing.
Now, C-ITECH Chartres is independent from Philips and is using this expertise acquired over decades to address other fields of applications, such as aerospace, aeronautics or defense using this glass to metal technology.
